Tickle Me Elmo X (TMX) - Update 2
09/21/2006 PM

Wow! I was sweating bullets for a while there. With only 4 hours left on my auctions and still no one had even bid the opening bid on any of my TMX Elmos! With 3 hours to go, finally a Buy it Now! sale came in. I was so happy to see the "eBay Item Sold" e-mail. I actually left my office and pranced around the receptionist area singing "I sold an Elmo! I sold an Elmo!". Of course they thought I was strange.

The next one was purchased via Buy it Now! at around 4:30PM and then the last two were purchased by the same person to cash in on the combined shipping promotion I had at around 5:20PM.

All said and done, I spent $167.96 on 4 TMX Elmos. The listing fees were $3.00 per Elmo and the final value fees plus PayPal fees came to about $6.00 per Elmo for a total of a little less than $9.00 each. I took in a total of $350.00 so this means I will have profited an estimated $146 less shipping fees which I imagine will be around $10 per Elmo, so $106 in profit. Not bad I guess for two trips to the store and then one trip to the post office.

Well, it's now 9:30PM EST and the number of TMX Elmos on eBay has dropped to around 9,600. The current selling price is between $70 to $90. I suspect that the price will rise again once the number of TMX Elmos for sale drops to below 2,000. I am unsure as to wether this will happen again once the 2nd wave of Elmos hits the stores. I have no idea when that will be. I wish I could have gotten $100 for each Elmo, but you know what, I am happy with what I got, free money is free money.
