Forensics : 4th and 5th Edition

The latest editions of "non-expansion" cards are the 6th and 7th Edition. These are the first set of "non-expansion" cards that have set symbols on them. 7th Edition looks like a glorified 7 one top of two cards and 6th Edition is just a bold roman-numeral 6:

    

The rest of the "non-expansion" card sets do not have set symbols, so the only way you can tell them apart (this applies to 4th and 5th editions only) is to examine the copyright date that is printed at the bottom of the card.

4th Edition cards were published in 1995. Therefore you will see the year 1995 at the bottom of card from this set. Also note that the date is left justified. A partial scan of the card has been provided to show how this copyright date actually looks:

5th Edition cards were published in 1997. Therefore you will see the year 1997 at the bottom of card from this set. Also note that the date is left justified. A partial scan of the card has been provided to show how this copyright date actually looks:

6th Edition (Classic) cards were published in 1999. Therefore you will see the year 1995-1999 at the bottom of card from this set. Also note that the date is centered. A partial scan of the card has been provided to show how this copyright date actually looks:
